Welvome to the forum Isaac,
99% of the time all the
Sensor needs is to be taken out, cleaned and the connectors cleaned then replaced, I have done this twice with mine and it works normally for about 3 years which is the same time as a new one lasts before it gets dirty again.
A faulty or dirty TDC Sensor does not usually show up on the diagnostic tests.
Just wanted to thank you for the info ... saved me some money. My wife drives a 2000 1.6 RXE scenic and we were having these intermittent starting problems for about a month. Renault told us to book the car in but I thought I'd search on the net to see if anyone had similar problems. Found this website and did the
sensor clean as recommended.
Problem solved and money saved!!
Thanks so much
