Contrary to popular belief cars tyres are excellent at conducting current to earth - thats why cars are so safe in a thunderstorm. Better still that why you get a static shock when you touch it when you or your clothing is charged with static. Trainers are the worst footwear for preventing a discharge of static. You could try wearing a pair of leather shoes or sandals and see if the problem improves.
It is not unknown for convertible cars to bend or flex along the length of the bodywork as they don't have the same rigidity as a car with a fixed roof. Try jacking the car in the centre and see if it improves
