when I had my windscreen by autoglass they replaced the whole windscreen sensor as they said you can't just replace the gel on renaults
So if the gel is everywhere apart from where the sensor is to hold it in place then you need a new sensor
No offence but it sounds like the Autoglass man was talking BS to you. (won't be the first or last time
I've just been to test the sensor after wiping off the surplus gel and tidying up the installation.
It now behaves exactly as I'd expect it to.
As mentioned in other threads the sensor (on my car at least) is clearly designed to be removed and refitted. If what the Autoglass guy told you was true one would assume the windscreen and sensor would be a one piece item.
P.S. Of course I'm fully aware that I might be back to square one when it rains and the sensor behaves crazily again. Thanks for your input anyway.
P.P.S Thanks again Pat.
