TDC Sensor Fixed...Thank you

I just want to add my thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread. Like a lot of Scenic owners I have been having intermittent starting problems which my local garage could not solve. I pointed out to them (after reading on this site) that it could be the TDC sensor but they said that it couldn't be must be a main dealer fix!!
Anyway I decided to bite the bullet and tackle the problem myself. I have no knowledge whatsoever of vehicle mechanics and very rarely even open the bonnet. Following your instructions I found the procedure very straight forward. I just removed the air vent pipe, felt for the TDC sensor bolts and removed them with a socket set. A quick wipe and clean, re-fit and as good as new.
My only word of warning for complete novices such as myself......the engine block retains it's heat for a long time so don't burn yourself like I did.!

Thanks to you all again.
