Ideally what you need to do is have the headlights on dipped beam with the car up against something like a smooth wall or piece of wood/plastic/metal at night.You can then see the beam pattern and you will be able to stick the beam adapters on to the lenses so that the kick up is blocked and you have a flat beam.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
