I also experience a dramatic loss of power when the aircon is on. Mine is the petrol variant.
My vibration is only tied to the pair rev-accelerator position. I've not really got a fix so far, by the end of september I should get a company car and then I'll have all the time needed to have the vibration fixed.
I've tried the AC at different speeds and disabled and this has no influence.

I've made some 2000 chilometers with a 2006 Saab 93 TiD 150CV and I have to say that my vibrations while unpleasant are nothing in comparison.

Diesel engine is not very sensitive to the AC status, but on my petrol alfaromeo the impact was dramatic.

A side note: the 1500dCI for relaxed driving turned out to be more pleasant than the 1.9 of the Saab, it has some torque starting from 1500rpm while the Saab needed at least 2000rpm to climb any hill.
BTW testing on the same roads.
