Take the HU out again and have a good poke around the hole it was in to make sure the other end of the CD changer cable aint lurking around somehwere and not just plugged in.

A close up picture of the plug in the boot would help matters more too. Oh and is it a female or male plug (with pins), The connector on the changer I took out of my Lag II was male, So the plug would have been female.
I had another look and there is no blue plug at the back of the head unit, never mind, it will keep me busy wiring one in.

Ive added some close up of the black female plug in the boot as requested. 7 wires in total.
