Hello and welcome to the forum.

As far as I know,the handbrake on warning light also doubles as a brake fluid level warning.Check the level asap,as there could be a leak from a bleed nipple or similar.

If the level is OK,then it could be a faulty switch on the handbrake.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
