Hey, if you have a diaphragm horn, it could just mean your switch is broken, if the horns only staying on when the ignition is on, it's most likely going to be an electrical fault. could just mean ur switch is stuck closed. The horn system only consists of the ignition switch a fuse and the horn switch, if the first two were broke it wouldn't work at all. sorry for the essay but hope it helps
There is a 3rd contact point on the back of the steering wheel.
There are the 2 switches on the contacts under the airbag.
If you take the wheel off, (unplug the battery and leave it for 30mins before removing the airbag)
There is a contact ring plastic module under the wheel which provides the signal through to the switches on the wheel.
Pre-2004 cars don't have a support brace for the wires feeding to the switches check its not shorting here.
If its damaged however its a renault only part and they're about £100
