Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It's very straightforward Kevin.
Firstly Using a spanner under the Auto gear lever you turn the nut slightly which releases the gear lever head.
Remove the ashtray by pulling out insert and removing the screw underneath.
Next prise out the surround which goes around the outer edge of the gear lever cover and lift off plastic and leather cover. You can then see the screws holding down the air con unit etc. The side carpets around the tunnel can now be lifted out by pulling forward toward the engine and pulling off the velcrose. The little side covers just pull of from the velcrose and plastic lugs.
The rear heater control edge can be prised off and the screws located. Finally pull off the small carpet in the rear from the velcrose and plastic lugs.
Good luck.
