There special, specific greases available to put on the pads, but copper slip is a big no-no now I'm afraid. The message is taking a long time to get through though as people have been using copper slip for slip years and it's difficult to persuade people to change their habits.
I do tend to fit pads dry now and so far (although I'd hate to tempt fate!) haven't had any problems.......you wait,we'll get a phone call tomorrow.....'ever since you fitted new pads to my car.....'.
I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
