there should be a connector on the inside of the car where the loom comes down from the top to the rear arch and runs along the side to the front of the car. look in the back of the rear wing above the rear arch, should be a connector of some sort and wires running up to the point where the loom passes through the panel shrouded in the rubber pipework to the boot.

its most likely that one of the ultra flexi wires has failed where the loom passes from the back/top of the car to the boot panel.

they use ultra-flexi wires similar to those used in RC model cars etc for the bit that goes from the boot to the chasis. some of the joints sometimes fail, bit of a pain to replace the wire or loom, but do-able.
