if it's like a clio or megane, gently pull the rubber bung out and you may need to either gently turn and use a finger to release cover plate
(tags will snap easily on megane type, clio cover stronger)
you want the tank as empty as possible and I would recommend a spare ring just in case.
when you have undone the ring it is important to fit rubber first then sender. If the sender swirl pot is spring loaded get a friend to hold it down while you feel the rubber is still all the way round lip (VERY IMPORTANT) then refit ring.
on the megane the tanks warp if done in anything other than cool conditions and left longer than 15 minutes.
