99 clio not central lock lost
Hi all. We lost the key to our 99 v reg clio on Saturday. It can only have been dropped next to the car & when we discovered it was lost were concerned about it being stolen.
We paid £50 for a locksmith to get the car open & then removed the battery. As it's not central locking, the door was left open as the only way to lock it is with the key.
The following morning the door was locked, meaning that whoever has the key had returned.
We have now been advised by the local dealer that we need to replace all the locks & ignition (it's a 3 door), at a total cost of £576. On top of that, there is a 5-10 day wait for them to arrive, they want the money upfront & we still have to pay to get the door open again so that it can be towed in.
The insurance will only pay £100 towards the cost.
Does anyone have any advice?
