I would go with an earth personally having experienced it myself albeit in a 1998 Megane.

The first place i would start mate is the rear cluster that it is affecting. You say it is when tou indicate left so that rear cluster is the starting point. Take the plug off the cluster and have a look at the pins. Make sure they are close so they would make a contact, also check the cosket and make sure it isn't corroded in any way.

I am not too sure what the pins are like on your car but on the Megane you can get a tiny screw driver down the back inside the plug and bend them forward a bit to make sure they make contact, however, note, be careful as you can break the pins completly doing this.

This is based on my Megane though and might not be of use to you at all but hope it helps.
