hello i own a clio authentique and i need to know two answers firstly is the hand brake and the foot brake two different circuits also i here slight squeeking coming from the drum when i brake but when the hand brake is applied and i depress the pedal there is no sound can you please help daz
The footbrake on your Clio is hydraulically actuated and the handbrake is cable operated.
The squeak you hear is the brake shoes moving over the backplate.
The reason they are squeaking is because the lubricant between the backplate and brake shoes has dried out/worn away.
Provided everything is in good nick, a simple service/re-set of the rear brakes should cure your problem.
