Hi Dunc,

A couple of questions;
Have you got a workshop manual?,
What is your level of competence with spanners and hammers?

I am going to assume no manual, but medium level of skill.

Remove the front wheel
Locate brake unit, there should be two small bolts that hold the carrige on. Remove these and the pads should be come accesable. Remove the pads and throw away. BTW, you should get the new bolts for the carrige with the brake pads.
Now, you have to remove the brake unit. There should be two large bolts holding the unit on, these are usually fitted in to out, so the heads of the bolts should be the engine bay side of the suspension strut.

Remove these two bolts and the unit is free. Use a wire coat hanger to suspend it from the front spring, do not disconnect it.
The disc is either free to remove, or may be held in by a torx/phillips screw. Remove this screw and the disc will come off.
Put everything back together until you come to fit the pads. You will need to push the brake piston back into the housing so that the new, thicker pds will fit. Best way to do this is use a bleed pipe with an NRV at the end, and put the end in Brake fluid. Release the bleed nipple and push the piston back into the unit. Oncec fully in, tighten the bleed nipple. Fit the brake pads, fit the carrige, fit the wheel and do the pther side.

Hope this helps.

P.S- I have done this of the top of my head with my knowledge of our Mk I scenic. I imagine they are the same, if not similar in design.
