Vel satis cabasse audtorium

To all you guys who like me think the speakers on the vel satis are S***te and have a very poor sound system read on.....

Had to investigate this one after reading specs and saw how much quality the cabasse is supposed to have?..

Removed door card as previously explained in thread saw what I thought at the time were incredibly rubbish quality speakers held on with two lugs (mounting points) and had terrible bass quality from them with much rattling etc.. So I decided after padding them out with draught excluder which made no difference. To buy some good quality JVC speakers

Fitted JVC speakers with 4 lugs and still they sounded rubbish( no difference really) so then realised there was something else wrong.

After thought on problem behind door card is a really thick sound insulation rear guard which is made of some sort of fibre glass/card composition and is moulded to fit to door. What really matters is there is no hole behind speaker to let air freely move around so that is the problem.

to fix just cut 4in square roughly hole in rear sound insulation in speaker recess in door to release air around back of speaker.

Refitted renault standard speakers. Hey presto what a really excellent sound. just as should be from cabbase audotorium. (no need for other manufacturers speakers these are really good and show you what it should sound like from a quality system like what is fitted.. so returned JVC speakers)

Cannot believe that renault fitted the system originally without breathing holes for speakers as standard what an oversight!!!.

Anyway if you want your cabasse system to sound like it should do folllow above steps. you will not believe the difference!!! and what a quality sound system you really have in the vel satis.

Regards to you all..
