In the below posting by Kip on the front page;
First job is to get the old stereo out - dead simple - just poke the removal tool into the holes and it should just pull out. You should be left with something like this :-
What is that black cable in the centre of the pic? I have installed a Kenwood for the moment with no stalk adapter (as i ordered the wrong one so will do so at a later date) and have simply used the ISO blocks for power, speakers and the aerial lead.
There are two other wires, one i suspect was an earth as clipped onto the metal chassis of the original (but seems to have no place on the new) and the larger clip you see in the centre of the pic.
What happens to that? What does/did it do? Will I ever need it or can i 'bury' it in the dash somewhere as i am having a pig of a time squeezing the radio into its new home.
