Hi all

The new filter/pump housing has a clear fuel line coming in on priming you can see fuel moving along, and the button goes hard.

The main fuel pump is as i understand built into the main injector pump.

I was leaning towards an electrical problem, but from the recent responses the fuel filter could still be a more likely defect.

Do you know if i by passed the fuel filter for a short while would any damage / clogging occur, if she ran ok and didn't cut out this would point back to the filter.

The short while she runs for, could be the fuel along the main input into the pump from the filter, once exhausted she would then cut out.

The time taken is variable Dependant on engine revs, and this on reflection is an almost constant 3 minutes.

Whilst the scrap yard pump was off a similar clio, there is no guarantee that it was working okay, prior to fitting.

Any opinions / advice gratefully received.
