An absolute piece of cake, provided that you buy the correct stereo removal tools. They're about a fiver a set from your local Halfords.

But make sure you get the right replacement unit. You can't just buy a radio/CD for a Megane - Renault have changed manufacturers for their stereos numerous times over the years, and the remote and external display wiring isn't compatible between the different ones. If you buy the wrong unit, the remote and display won't work.

It may make more sense to add a CD changer to your current radio/cassette unit. There's a bit more work involved, but it's definitely well within the realms of DIY. You'll still have the option of playing cassettes (handy for audiobooks if you ever listen to them) and you'll be able to have 6 discs loaded in the changer.
