So, with a lead from '+' to the fuse box yellow lead (I believe that which is shown in circuit diagram) I constantly get 14.2V out of the alternator.
It goes down to 13.8V if I put heater fan on.
Either way it makes a horrible whining noise as if it is being overworked.
Once the engine is off the battery sits about 12.25V.
So, I'm completely baffled.
I must point out that the alternator was second hand but the seller assured me it was working. I have to believe him as it does kick out 14.2V but this doesn't necessarily mean it is working properly.
Any thoughts anyone?
