Tyre pressure sensors not active after Scenic dash replacement

I've an early (53 plate) Scenic II. Dash went dark one day, and I had it repaired by those nice chaps at ICS Tech in Northern Ireland.

So far, so good. However, after refitting, all the tyre-pressure sensors are not operating (the little tyre indicators on the dash go out after engine is started) and the message "Electronic Fault" comes on. Easily cancelled, and I can easily live without tyre pressure sensors, but it's annoying, nevertheless.

My local independent Renault specialist reckons that the tyre pressure sensor system needs "re-initialising", and wants it in for an hour's labour to sort it.

Does anybody have any idea what such re-initialisation might entail? I'm wondering whether simply disconnecting the battery and letting the entire car's systems reboot to each other might be enough?

Thanks for any advice.
