If it's the 2.0IDE petrol engine, then mine went in for the recall a few months ago. Apparently it's something to do with the car failing to conform to its published emissions figures.

As a bonus, my car had always faltered when it got to around 6000rpm, but pulls smoothly right up to the red-line after reprogramming. At least it does when the limiter lets me go right the way up there - at times, it seems to have a mind of its own. Fuel economy doesn't appear to have improved in the slightest (I don't think my driving style has changed, but I'm still averaging 30mpg if I'm lucky) so I can't see how emissions will have improved.

The VOSA recall list doesn't mention this one, but I think manufacturers are only obliged to log recalls with the VOSA if they have safety implications.
