I have a 2005 Clio dCi 80.
Good points:
Superb economy: expect 65 mpg on the motorway and up to 600 miles per tank of diesel
Performance is mostly fine for this type of car
Very comfortable: superb front seats and a compliant ride
Completely reliable: my car has done 14,600 miles in nine months and nothing has gone wrong
Cheap: £7500 will get whatever you want
Excellent hi-fi including a CD player on some models
Very good air conditioning on some models
Plastic front wings, so if you damage them, repair is cheap
Not-so-good points:
Build quality is not the best
Sunroofs creak
Not much overtaking reserve at 70 mph (but you could get a dCi 100 or a larger petrol)
So, there you go, then. You can see that the good points outweigh the not-so-good. Go ahead and get a Clio, and have fun.
