Sadly, the only answer on our budget was to cut our losses and scrap the car. Its totally unsolvable as far as we can tell, the only thing you can do is go to Renault, take none of their rubbish about new keys etc, and tell them to replace the

which is where the problems come from. You can buy your own
and fit it much much much cheaper then Renault, but it will run very badly using far too much fuel and so will need to be programmed by... Renault. Who may very well blag you into thinking that if they didnt fit it and it wasnt their part, they cant proigram it, so they will probably charge a fortune to reprogram or fit a new one again.
So... If you can cut your losses, or are as short of cash as we were, then you will be lucky to get £250 for it max. If you have some spare cash, go to renault, tell them the immobilior is locked and you need a new
and see what they want to charge.
