Maybe it would help if we had a read at the fact sheet issued about faulty items with reference to the sale of goods act 1979 .... might clear up some opinions, viewpoints and misconceptions .... note the offer of warranty is fairly irrevelent to the protection offered under the sale of goods act which is 6 years in England and 5 years from discovery in Scotland .....
Warranty - defn -UKGov
As a supplier, any warranty offer is in addition to the statutory responsibilities under the Sale of Goods Act.
A supplier cannot, for instance, refuse to deal with a customer's complaint about a faulty product simply on the grounds that the warranty on the product has expired.
Hope it helps
Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?
