I have a 2.5 year old Espace with the handbrake that applies itself when ever you stop. It is not locking on and works Ok BUT, if you want to pull away quick at a roundabout it can cause a momentary delay, which on a diesal is noticable.
Is there a fuse you can remove to disable this feature?
I know its been 2 years since you placed this thread, but I know exactly what you are talking about. The handbrake seems to apply itself every time you slow down to a halt. So at every stop sign, traffic light or traffic jam it seems to take a while to unlock itself before you can pull off. Just incase anyone else reads this - the hand brake is not applied by the driver, it does it by its self.
Did you reslove this issue and if so what was done to rectify it? Thanks
