We had this same fault with my fathers car, but an electronics expert fixed it for around £100. It's nice to see Renault acknowledge the problem and fix their problem at a reasonable cost.
Anyway, our problem is that the mileage has gone from ~80k to 163k (a side effect of this problem). However we are not sure what the actual mileage is, the only proof we have is from the MOT in January when it was recorded.
Unfortunately since my father died we now have to sell the car. Should we approach renault to get them to put the mileage back (tho we are not exactly sure what to), or simply sell it as is, explaining to any prospective buyer what happened? It's a pity it'll wipe about £500 of the value of the car, (although we do have bigger problems to think about ATM).
I'm sorry you had this problem with your Scénic. Unfortunately we cannot adjust the mileage on the vehicles.
