The code for the immobiliser is stored in a box (
or bmt) under the pass side dash. When you try to start the car it is compared with the number stored in the
under the bonnet. If they agree the car is allowed to crank the engine and start.
The flashing light on the dash should go solid then go out if the immobiliser is opperating correctly. If it flashes fast the immobiliser is active as the proceedure has failed.
has failed a second hand unit can be purchased for about £100 ready to learn the next car it is plugged into. This will only cure your problem if it is the part that is faulty on your car.
