The Top Dead centre Sensor " TDC " Sensor tells the Engine control unit " ECU " where the top dead centre is in the engine so the ECU can tell the spark plugs when to fire.

There is a small steel tip on the TDC which picks up the signal from the flywheel.

If the tip gets dirty, and it will every 3 years or so, the engine will not start.

A problem well stated is a problem half solved !
