An interesting point - can you elaborate.
Surely the energy from the power steering isn't in use until the steering rack is moved by the steering column. As far as I am aware the steering on cars is purely mechanical and the power steering system is only there to assist when required. Better still on some cars the power steering cuts out completely when the car is going over a certain speed.
