An intermittant fault doesn't always happen....
Also,a plug can quite happily spark outside of a cylinder,but if the spark is even slightly weak it won't happen under pressure in a cylinder.
Usually a misfire will be picked up by the management system as an emissions fault,hence why I asked if the management light came on at all.
