The O/S window regulator has disintegrated on my sons 2001 (Clio 2 door) He has been quoted £170 + Vat for the regulator + fitting.
Does any one know of a cheaper source and what sort of a job is to fit yourself?

thanks ad

I've not done a Clio one before but from previous experience as long as your methodical in your approach it should be a DIY job. As long as you fairly handy with a set of spanners and have access to a good quality set of Torx bits you should be ok.

Here is a link to a few Renault parts specialists. IMHO I would put a second hand regulator from a scrapped car. Much cheaper than new and quite often the yard owners will remove parts on request.

Hope this helps. Kind regards Oily.:)

Thanks for that, I have seen them on Ebay for around £70 new but I am not sure of the quality.

I got one from Ebay for about £70 incl. P&P. It has been in and working for about 6 months with no problems so far.

My other half fitted it following the Haynes Manual (he is handy but certainly no expert!)

The only issue was that the plug / connector was not compatible. He got round that by chopping off the old one and connection it to the new - not ideal but it works!
