I bought the official Renault wiring kit for my Lag II phase I, and found that it didn't use bypass relays at all. The only box was the buzzer for the trailer indicators. The rest was just simple wiring.
I had the Phase II wired by a professional who didn't use bypass relays either, as he was confident that they weren't required on this model.
So I'd be inclined not to bother, though make sure you cut out the car's rear fog lights when towing (either an 8 pin socket or a fog cut-out relay) otherwise you might overload the fog light circuit.
