if its a mk1 laggy it should be fed down the back pillars and it will connect onto the main loom there.
i think on the lagy1 i found it easier to pull the entire loom out of the hatch, and use the one on the car and re feed it back into the hatch (mostly due to the size of connectors on the ends).
just check the end coneector sizes before fitting the loom on.
oh and mind out for the super flexi electical wires on the bit that bridges the panels(inside the rubber hose), they sometimes break where they connect to the regular copper cables on the loom.
