Thats definitely cost you a few quid if you've had all that done. I was lucky that the guy who sold me the car fitted a new cambelt/pulleys on it and new front discs before i took ownership otherwise I'd have had to spend even more. I am still annoyed though as it passed its MOT at the start of October and I've had to do the rear discs. I checked the advisory notice which said the disc were slightly pitted, well they were alot more than that!!
I discovered a link to the dvla website where you can check your cars MOT history and any advisory notices. Interesting reading for my car, mostly brake related!! All you need is your reg number and last MOT test number or number off your V5 document, if you don't have these you cannot access the details.
