battery or immobiliser

Hi everyone, hope someone can shed some light on this for me......

My 04 megane 225 has been sitting on the drive for a few months now while I've saved some spare cash for some work for its mot, about three weeks ago i noticed that the battery had gone flat and the keyless entry didnt work, i entered the car through the passenger door using the silly key built into the card reader and the alarm went off! I managed to get the passenger door shut and locked again and the alarm got the hint and cancelled. Last night i opened the car again but now, with the battery completely flat there was no alarm. I popped the bonnet and hooked up the "power house" that is my wife's panda and attempted a jump start. Almost straight away i had dashboard lights and all the appropriate messages, after five minutes i tried a start but all i got was a loud "click" (starter solenoid?), realising the battery probably hadn't taken enough charge i left it for another 15 minutes, trying starts at 2 minute intervals but all with the same results. having come to the conclusion that something was amiss i gave up at this point. On removing the jumpers from the battery I instantly lost dash lights and all power on the car, all that remained was the red flashing led on the dashboard which slowly faded like arnie's eye in terminator 2. In everyone's opinion do I:
a) Have a knackered battery due to being left totally flat for at least a fortnight?
b) A dodgy immobiliser which is in a huff due to two months of being ignored?
c) Need to try with a car with slightly more grunt than a 1 litre panda?

I'm swinging towards battery due to the instant loss of power following the panda disconnect, that and im a glass half full kind of guy!

Cheers everyone!
