The 75 amp unit is for the 1.6 and to be honest they have troubles with engine stalling at idle with the air con on..
My advice would be to fit the 120amp for definate to your 1.8 to avoid this problem..
I know this is a very old post, but can someone please explain how fitting a 120amp alternator would solve the problem of the engine stalling.
Surely the loading on the engine would be the same, or little different during idle
