Renault Vel Satis - Buying Advice

Hi Guys,

Went to view a 2002 Vel Satis 3.0 dCi V6 Auto. Initiale today. It looks to be in fantastic condition, with the only error message being a tyre sensor fault, which will be rectified before I buy.

Are there any common problems I could spot before I take the plunge?

It seems like such a great car. Averaging 37 MPG (My Mégane is doing 30) and drives like a dream. All the electrics work, its got 88,000 miles and was originally a Renault company car.

It's such a beast, looks incredible. Being a private sale, theres no warranty, but I would definitely take out a policy from a company such as Warranty Direct (feedback on this also welcome).

Thanks in advance.
