Re: Laguna Mk1 Front CrossMember Corrosion - MOT failure

Did some work today. Fitted my new bonnet cable, many thanks to Mord for that also sorted my drive-shaft gaiter... sorta.. It had a tiny little hole, and after buying a split universal gaiter, I thought to myself that just glueing the hole had to be less prone to failure than a whole split gaiter being glued! It looked incredibly fiddly as well. Oh well, will see if that passes.

Anyway. On to the cross-member. I paid 76 for a brand new one from Renault, and it doesn't look like it's even close to fitting. I've got some photos below. Does this look like the kind of thing that anyone's stuck underneath their radiator before?

I notice the label says it's for an RTE, but mine's an RXE, so it might be different? They did ask for my registration number first, so I thought they'd just know, like magic...
