Well done fella, that will be a big help to people believe me.

I would just like to say that thanks to this forum I managed to fix my intermittent starting problem which had been infuriating me for about 3 months.

I am not all that mechanical, but will have a go with the right info to hand. Some kind person managed to get pictures from a French website to show the location of the top dead centre sensor. The advice was to remove it and clean the sensor.

In the clio 1.2 grande 2000 the battery block and cooling pipes block access, so it took me about an hour to get the thing off. Eventually I managed and gave the 3, hardly visible little sensors on the surface of the part a clean with WD-40, put it back on and the car has been starting first time, every time since.

A million thank yous!!!
