I think you need to have a look around the forum,especially the Laguna articles section.There is a mass of info in there about the Laguna 2's,and some more info on problems people have had with the 1.8.The actual engine it's self is pretty good,the electronics that control it are slightly less so.

I'd definately be wary of the auto box,they can be troublesome and very expensive to put right,but to be honest many manufacturers have struggled with modern auto technology in the recent past so Renault aren't alone.

Apart from that,the Laguna 2 is comfortable and when everything works it's a good car,it's just that the days when it does all work are in the minority.Having said that there are some people that love their Lag 2's.

I think thats a balanced view......probably kinder than I've been to the model before.
