Re: Renault Clio 1 - Post Purchase Advice

Welcome Bex, I had a 1.2 Clio N reg as a first car and it was ace (although it was purple) - it had a few faults but nothing major to worry about and soldiered on to 100k until the cambelt snapped lol

The MOT history link from tankface is accurate but will only show failures / advisories since the MOTs became electronic. If there was a failure, you'll see a second entry showing when it passed its re-test.

The MOT however does not check things like the cambelt and clutch, so you'll have to dig through any paperwork / service books you receive with the car from the seller to find that out.

If you are worried about the cambelt you can check it visually - if it shows excessive cracking or signs of wear then it'll need doing sooner rather than later

And congrats for passing your test!
