Sorry to be a PITA but what would you all say is the average Renault main dealer hourly labour rate? I know I could call my locals but they all have switchboards etc and I can't be bothered holding for too long just to ask a 5 second question.
Are the following optional extras worth looking at?
- Air conditioning
The labour rate will vary from dealer to dealer, and will also be dependent upon the local area's economy. £75 per hr upwards to £100 per hr is probably in the ballpark (plus vat of course
Airbags - I wouldn't pay extra for - they have a recommended shelf life of 15 years, and most of the fault codes are due to worn electrical connections which can be tackled by a competent auto electrician.
Air con - yes, I'd pay for that as even fixing a leak in the system & re-gas can cost a few hundred pounds (here's to the cost of a siezed compressor from Renault...).
Emissions - yes, as this will cover the cat and the
Basically, if its a repair which could be dealt with competently by an independent specialist - I'd say don't pay for that cover, but if its an item which either requires Renault-specific parts, or even worse, a Dealer's intervention, then yes, include it if it's not prohibitively expensive.
This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.
