Re: Aftermarket Warranty for VS - What do you reckon?

Hi Eternal Optimist,

I've not been able to find a garage I trust as the highly recommended local specialist turned into a bit of a nightmare in various ways, then I found a very knowledgeable Renault mechanic who reckoned his boss at a local dealership lets him work on his own private clients' cars for half the usual rate which sounded a bit weird, so I'm stuck for someone I can completely trust. Maybe my nearest Renault dealership will turn out to be the best option if I approached them.

Do you have a warranty for your own Vel Satis, Eternal Optimist?

Query for Paul (VelSatisf...)... for your Merc warranty with WarrantyWise, what is your hourly labour rate set to i.e. did you stick with the default 35/hour or did you increase it to exactly what your preferred Merc garage charges?

I'm leaning more towards WarrantyWise now myself, as apparently, their rival, WarrantyDIRECT, will only pay you what the car is worth at the time of a claim, even if you set the car's value much higher when you originally took out the policy, whereas WarrantyWISE will pay the value you told them at the start, not what the car's worth at the time of any future claim. You probably knew that anyway but it sounds good.
