Oliver, if as you say, you only drive 6000 miles (or less) each year - I would risk not having a warranty as it will add very substantially to your annual motoring bill.

Chances are you won't need it (it doesn't sound like you've used the existing one thus far), and the money the warranty would cost would cover a fairly major repair (except for engine/gearbox replacement).

Many of the VS components were shared with other similar-sized cars (Espace, etc), and those that are specific can still be sourced second-hand.

It is a luxury car, but it shouldn't become a 'luxury' just to own it.
