Remember as well as building up experience & confidence by getting out on the road as much as possible - that official training (just to ensure you are meeting the DSA requirements) is advisable at some point before the test.
For example, I had 6 months driving with my Dad beside me, and 4 lessons with BSM - then sat my test (and passed), first time.

Yes, I do driving lessons with an ADI. Have done about 25 hours with them, and have booked my test. My ADI instructor said my general driving was good, so she wants to focus on my manouvers. So I thought it would be good to use private practice just to practice general driving just to make sure I'm completely ready for it and won't forget anything.
I love driving so far
. Have always waited to drive ever since I was very young, and have found the wait worth it
