Well, it looks like a lot of work was carried out - so I would go along with your feelings about trusting this garage.
Its a sad fact of life that many of those we as a public place trust in - do tend to cheat us - they have the knowledge & technical jargon (plus a car in bits), so we just pay up, and shut up.
If you get a good vibe from them - then trust that.
An auto electrician is someone qualified to deal with the electrical systems on a car - the garage may know of someone, or perhaps someone you know may be able to recommend a service.
Basically, cars have become much more sophisticated since the 1980's (when an auto electrician may only have been fitting stereos/alarms/extra lights), nowadays cars have a computerised brain (called an
), and the car has various sensors feeding this brain a constant flow of data - if there is a problem - a light gets displayed.
I was suggesting that this sort of person would be most likely to fault-find and trace where this airbag light is showing as a fault (and hopefully be able to fix it - it could be something as simple as a loose connection...
Food for thought for the future maybe.
You're not the only one who gets sentimentally attached to cars - I still own most of the cars I've ever bought.
Anyway, happy motoring for the next 12 months at least.
