Just want to say thanks a lot to all the members' contribution to this thread.

My Vel Satis has this problem (same panel as the Laguna). I've had the car for 3 months and just learned to live with no climate display at night. However, I came across this thread today and decided to give it a go - I HAVE A BRIGHT WHITE ILLUMINATED SCREEN NOW!

Took me around 40 mins for the whole thing - the fiddly bit is actually getting at the climate control panel in the Vel Satis. And yes - a drop of solder on resistor 101 was the solution.

If any Vel Satis owners need info on how to get access to it just let me know - I wouldn't have attempted it without this thread.
